Our Certified team of specialists provide information and connect people to resources including, but not limited to home care, employment and training, food assistance, gas and electric bill assistance, health care, clothing and household items, home repair programs, transportation, and legal resources. Our services are free and confidential.
In 2020, I&R Specialists helped 3,264 people. We provided:

It is a tribute to the staff, leadership, and supporters of The Information Center that this Downriver institution has reached its 45th year. Clearly, the need for help in navigating governmental bureaucracy and red tape has persisted. When I and a small group of friends decided to launch the Downriver Citizens Information and Referral Office (which mercifully became TIC), we had a vague idea of what it could become. Through the years, the reality has far exceeded our limited vision. The people of the downriver area benefit every day from the dedication, compassion, and creativity of the great staff of The Information Center who do whatever it takes to solve problem, improve lives, and strengthen the community.
